McCuskey Family Reunion

Wheeling Park - Saturday, June 29, 2002

FELLOW KINSMEN: You are invited to attend the next McCuskey Family Reunion in Wheeling Park at the Sonneborn Shelter. Your assistance is also requested in sending this invitation to all of your known relatives in the McCuskey line.

It is especially important to attend this reunion. The "Restoration 2002" project of Jane Olson was completed on December 24, 2002 when the new tombstone for James & Nancy McCuskey was set in place. Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the reunion in Stone Church Cemetery, Elm Grove, WV at the gravesite. The original tombstones had to be removed prior to the construction phase of the restoration project to eliminate the possibility of damage.

11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m: Registration and photos at the Sonneborn Shelter.

12:30 or 1:00 p.m: Buffet style dinner.

Following the Dinner

  1. Introduction of attending fellow Kinsmen.
  2. Discussion and decision of the destiny of the original tombstones.
  3. Short talks by guest speakers in connection with the history of our ancestors and their western migration.
  4. Distribution and explanation of our latest McCuskey Family Tree Outline that is now 70 pages and contains approximately 3,300 relatives.
  5. Door prizes will be given out to the oldest, youngest, longest distance traveled, shortest distance traveled, and the person with the most immediate family members attending.
  6. Discussion and decision in connection with the next reunion. Our ancestors decided at the 1939 reunion that a reunion would be held every three years to meet new relatives and renew old acquaintances. However, World War II disrupted their plans. Your attendance is crucial to insure that there will be future reunions and continued interest in our McCuskey Family Tree and its history.

Hotel and Motel Reservations: Your reservations MUST be made as soon as possible because there is a softball tournament in town that weekend. Last year, many of those attending the reunion stayed at the Best Western, located at 10th & Main St. (304) 233-8500, and provided an opportunity for further socializing with our relatives.

Please contact me by mail, telephone or E-mail ASAP, and not later than June 1, 2002 to confirm how many of your family will be attending.

Your cousin, Todgie aka James McCuskey DeWolf, 37360 Green Dr., Eastlake, OH 44095
