McCuskey Reunion 2005

Come join the fun!

A McCuskey Reunion has been planned to begin at 10:00 a.m.on August 6, 2005. A family blessing will be held at the James & Nancy McCuskey cemetery marker at Old Stone Church Cemetery, Elmwood, WV. The reunion will continue with a family picnic to be held in the John Daniel Shelter in Bethlehem Park in Bethlehem, WV about 6 miles from downtown Wheeling (Exit 2, I-470, Chapel Road, turn left over bridge, Bethlehem Park is the second right turn). Food will be catered by Bachman Catering of Wheeling. The cost will be $12.00 per person, 12 years and older. Bring pictures, scrapbooks, or other family memorabilia to share.

A block of rooms has been reserved for Friday and Saturday nights, August 5th and 6th at the Wheeling Inn, 949 Main Street – Telephone: 304-232-8787. Arrangements for an informal gathering for dinner has been planned on Friday evening at the Wheeling Inn.

Other events that are being planned include a golf outing at Olgebay Park on Friday afternoon, Sunday brunch at Olgebay Park, and tours to sites of family interest. More details will following in a subsequent announcement.

Since the reunion will be catered, be sure to send your reservation and menu choice by July 15th to ensure that enough food can be ordered. Also, please indicate your interest in attending dinner on Friday evening at the Wheeling Inn and/or brunch on Sunday morning at Olgebay Park so that we can make appropriate reservations and provide you with menu choices. Golfers, please indicate your interest for playing on Friday afternoon starting about noon so that enough tee times can be reserved. See next page for reservation slip.

Reserve your copy of this large spiral-bound book (about 200 pages) that tells of several West Virginia families who intermarried and traveled west to Ohio, Illinois and further west. It features the history of the McCuskey and related families. Included are pictures of many of the first generation descendants after the migration, family histories, family charts, and 100 years of letters from the John McCuskey descendants written back home to West Virginia. This revision has only a few corrections & pictures different from than the 2004 revision. Cost is $30.00 prepaid.
